Welcome to John Deere Middle School!
The staff of John Deere Middle school would like to extend a warm welcome to our students and families. Our school was built in 1930 and named after John Deere, the inventor of the polished steel plow and founder of John Deere & Company. Approximately 750 sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students attend John Deere Middle School. Our colors are royal blue and gold. Our mascot is the Spartan. At John Deere, we follow the middle school concept, and each grade level is divided into two teams – Blue or Gold.
At JDMS, we believe that it is important for our students to be connected to school through positive relationships and a strong sense of community. Through our Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program, we teach students the importance of respectful, responsible and ready behavior. We believe that every student can learn and be successful if provided the right support and opportunities within a rigorous and respectful environment that fosters learning and growth.
Regular school attendance is crucial. Students who attend school daily and report to school on time experience more success, participate in more extracurricular activities, and feel more connected to their school community. We look forward to working with our students and families. #SpartanPride!
Sincerely yours,
Dr. Dusti Markham, Principal
